A Daisy for a Friend
This is to honor Inong of Dapur Bunda, who died of asthma attack on September 1, 2006, –9 days before her 33th birthday. A Super Mom, a perfect mom. A dedicated homemaker. A baker. A painter. A writer. A Poet. A teacher. A friend.
I still remember the last baking class I had at her house, where she taught Lapis Legit (1000 Layers Cake). It was last year, before she moved to Singapore. The class was attended by me, Ana and Vita. It didn’t feel like a class, because 4 of us knew each other well. We ate the cake after class, and chatted all afternoon. Talking about girl stuff and everything.
Among Indonesian bloggers, Inong was an endless source of inspiration and enthusiasm. So many times I found myself thinking that I could never do what she could do in 24 hour a day. She changed many lives, including mine.
So, here is to Inong. May Allah have mercy and return her good deeds million times bigger. I’ll be missing her so much.
