Eventually Comes My Day
We become very familiar with piracy. It’s everywhere. On the net, off the net. I initially believed that since my photos posted on the net were all in low-res, worst comes to worst, they would probably only be hijacked on the net (and they were, twice so far). They wouldn’t be good printed.
Obviously I was wrong.
The above photo was published in a food magazine just last week.
Yes, without my consent, without attribution whatsoever. Whereas my terms clearly stated (check out my sidebar):

dikasih label “pennylane” aja di setiap fotomu, mbak. kayak yg ada di food blogs yg laen. biar para pembajak berpikir ulang klo mo ngambil foto2mu jadi obyek bajakkan mereka.
btw, gak coba komplain ke pihak magazine itu, mbak?

OMG!!! I’m not surprised when pictures or posts are copied verbatim on the web - but in a well-respected magazine?! They should be embarrassed!

kayak gini bikin kesel yah. Mbak kan fotonya udah dibajak kenapa gk dikasih tau aja sekalian majalah apa. onair gitu loh. yg bajak aja tega so kitanya juga tega kasih tau kalau mereka ngebajak.

Setuju pada usulan #1,2,3 dan 4. Ada baiknya setiap foto di ‘copyright’ dan sekalian dishare majalah pembajaknya. Biasanya mereka nggak tahu soal license yang ada dan ada juga yang memang nggak niatan kasih credit.
BTW, blognya bagus banget.

my husband had experienced such things - twice!. we complained to the Malaysian High Profile magazines but nothing was done. i guess there is only one thing left to do…report to the Biro Pengaduan Awam..if there is such department there…

What a hack! This is not right. You know mbak, mas Budi also had the same problem, a high profile magazine/tabloid used his writing and published without notifying him.
I myself just got the same problem, another blogger used the recipe that I translated into English and used my taken picture as well. However, it’s over coz the blogger asked for apologized.

iya mbak, aku setuju sama salah satu usul diatas, kasih label aja di foto2 yang ada di postingan mbak. narohnya persis di tengah, jangan di bawah.
mbak astri nugraha (resepnugraha dot net) tuh biasanya gitu.
btw, emang fotonya keren abis sih mbak, setaraf lah ama hasil jepretan fotografer pro.

hhhmmm… foto gw juga dipake sama website dari luar, terutama tentang pariwisata. kalo buat gw anggap aja itu kekaguman tertinggi… jadinya dicolong hehehe….
